General Information:
Amino acid glutamine is involved in many important body functions. It is found in free amino acids (20%) and in muscle cells (60%) in high concentration. Glutamine is one of the non-essential amino acids and can therefore be synthesized by the body, for example, from BCAAs. However, those who play active sports or have suffered from physical stress need a significant increase of glutamine. Glutamine is therefore often classified as semi or half essential. An insufficient level of glutamine in the body should be avoided because of its important properties.
Features:
Glutamine is highly involved in the transport of amino acids to the muscles and in the synthesis of muscle protein which means it has anabolic effects. Glutamine helps to prevent the muscle degradation under high physical stress. Both the immune system and the digestive system are dependent on the availability of glutamine to strengthen the body’s defence system and to induce regeneration. |
