Short Description:
HMB is formed from a natural metabolite of essential amino acid L-leucine.
HMB has a similar function to asleucine, but is primarily aimed to prevent stress reactions and muscle breakdown. HMB is effective at stimulating the production of lean muscles, fat loss with little muscle loss.
What can I expect from HMB?
HMB is a mono-supplement, which overall impact depends on your eating habits and use of additional supplements (Createston, creatine, leucine, arginine, carnitine, etc.).
HMB significantly reduces the catabolic loss of proteins during intense workout sessions. New muscle mass is built (up to 5 to 10% a year), and weight stimulates weight loss with little muscle loss.
To prolong the strong but limited effect of HMB, consume build substrates, especially proteins.
Function and impact:
Hardly any other supplement is as crucial as HMB. HMB is perfect for athletes and beginners that need help with particularly intense workout sessions. During a lighter workout, the effects are not that pronounced.
HMB (beta hydroxy beta methylbutyrate) is a substrate, found in grapefruit, alfalfa and catfish, but mainly is formed from L-leucine. These sources may not meet your needs and thus do not provide an adequate substitute for supplementation.
HMB is a derivative of L-leucine, which means that it is formed from this amino acid and has a similar effect to leucine. HMB helps to fight stress caused by intensive training session and reduces muscle degradation. During the training body protein (musculature) is reduced to produce more energy. HMB regenerated body protein mass and restores nitrogen balance. HMB optimizes energy metabolism and stimulates reduction of body fat.
Only 3 to 5% of consumed L-leucine is not endogenously synthesized. Compared with HMB, a 3g portion is equal to 60-100g of leucine and is accordingly effective. This means that metabolism activity is stimulated more than MHB’s precursor, while enhancing leucine’s anabolic features.
HMB can be easily combined with creatine and arginine supplements, because it is more active in their presence and reduces the degradation of creatine phosphate. HMB can be combined with amino acid Carnitine to support the transport of fatty acids into mitochondria, where they are effectively burned.
