Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in Europe.
Almost every second person in Europe is affected by the consequences of a cardiovascular disease such as stroke, heart attack or pulmonary embolism in their lifetime.
A fundamental process that contributes to the development of these diseases is atherosclerosis, colloquially known as hardening of the arteries.
Nattokinase refers to an enzyme that is isolated from fermented soybeans and is considered a natural blood thinner. The enzyme has fibrinolytic properties, i.e. it can dissolve blood clots and thus have a blood-thinning effect. This effect can manifest itself in lower blood pressure, among other things. Initial studies suggest that taking nattokinase can have a positive influence on the risk of cardiovascular problems.
The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) also confirms the safety of nattokinase products.
