Insulin docks onto the corresponding receptors in our cells, which activates so-called glucose transporters in the cell wall and transports the glucose (or sugar) from the blood into the cells. Consequently, the blood sugar level drops again. Since your body cannot estimate how much food is still being absorbed, it often releases too much insulin. The body tries to regulate the blood sugar level as quickly as possible and often lets it drop too much. The consequences of a low blood sugar level can be fatigue, loss of concentration and cravings.
